Bell times
School hours are 9:25 am to 3:25 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 8:55 am to 2:55 pm on Friday. Friday starts and finishes 30 minutes earlier for our interschool sport program (PSSA).
Plan ahead with our 2027 term dates and calendars, including school holidays and development days.
It's important for students to arrive on time each day. If your child is running late, please contact our front office.

Our school operates on a standard schedule from Monday to Thursday, but runs half an hour earlier on Friday to accommodate our interschool sport program (PSSA). Additional extracurricular activities (such as band, sports training, dance, etc.) may occur outside of the hours listed below. Students may enter the school through the front office door for these programs. For further information about our school's bell times or the extracurricular activities we offer, please contact our school's front office.
Why every school day matters
Being at school regularly and arriving on time helps your child take part in learning, build friendships and feel connected. Missed days, late arrivals and early pickups add up over the year, reducing the time your child has to learn with their class.
Missed days add up
The department’s attendance flyer illustrates that:
- missing 1 day a fortnight adds up to about 4 weeks a year, or more than 1 year over a child’s full school career
- missing 1 day a week adds up to about 8 weeks a year, or more than 2.5 years over a child’s full school career.
The long-term totals include high school, rather than just the primary years.

Minutes matter too
The department’s examples show that missing:
- 5 minutes each day adds up to about 3 days of learning time a year
- 30 minutes each day adds up to about 18 days of learning time a year.

Absences and changes to the school day
Let the school know as soon as possible when your child is absent. Explain an absence within 7 calendar days of the first day away. You can use School Bytes or contact our office if you need help.

Use School Bytes to explain your child's absence. Include the date or dates and the reason. Your explanation goes to the school for review.
If you cannot use the portal, contact our office on 9546 1565. Our parent portal page has a guide to explaining absences.
If your child will arrive after the starting bell, contact our office. We can explain how to record their late arrival.
Friday starts earlier than Monday to Thursday, so check our bell times when planning your morning.
Contact our office if your child needs to leave during the school day. Tell us the planned time, reason and who will collect them.
Confirm the collection and sign-out arrangements with the office before the day.
Wherever possible, plan family travel during school holidays so your child does not miss learning time. If you need to travel during term, talk to the school before making arrangements.
Complete our Application for extended leave (travel) in School Bytes before the travel dates. You must provide:
- the dates your child will be away
- the reason for the travel
- relevant travel documentation, such as an itinerary or e-ticket, attached to the application.
Adding a planned absence in School Bytes does not replace this application. The principal considers each application, and approval is not automatic. Approved leave is still recorded as an absence.

Assemblies
Whole-school assemblies offer opportunities to recognise student accomplishments in all aspects of school life. Parents and family members are welcome to attend these events. Assemblies are held on Fridays at 2:10pm in Weeks 3, 6, and 9 of each term.
